Information
On a wide range of issues including benefits, respite and services available to carers
Emotional Support
Our staff understand the stresses of caring for a family member and can offer a sympathetic ear and support either in the home or outwith the home setting.
Training for Carers
Often a carer finds themselves in a caring situation for which they have not been prepared or feel that they lack the skills needed. We can organise or access training to support a carer in this situation.
Relaxation Therapies
Understanding the stress which carers can be under, we offer opportunities to access reflexology and therapeutic massage sessions.
Counselling
Carers can have deep emotional issues with which they deal. We can offer a counselling service to assist carers to come to terms with life-changing situations.

Leisure/Exercise Opportunities
Regular exercise can help to keep both the body and mind healthy. We are running a pilot scheme with Angus Council to offer free access to their leisure facilities for carers.
Social and Relaxation Opportunities

Carers can often feel very isolated. We offer a variety of social opportunities with something to suit most people, where carers can meet together. For example our Carers Day, walks, outings or bingo tea
Support Groups
Carers often welcome the opportunity to meet with other carers. We have a number of support groups which meet throughout Angus. We also have specific groups for Male Carers, Parent/Carers of Children on the
Autistic Spectrum, Young Carers and those who care for someone who mis-uses alcohol.
Sitting Service
Through our very valuable volunteers, we can offer a limited respite or short-breaks service. This can allow the carer to have a couple of hours to themselves, knowing that the person for whom they care is in
safe hands.
Consultation in Planning of Services
As well as representing carers interests at various meetings we also encourage carers to participate in opportunities for consultation and planning of services.
Newsletter
This is produced quarterly and is sent to all registered carers and interested practitioners, volunteers and supporters.
