Young carers assessment

When we receive information that a young person may be a young carer a Young Carer Support Worker will then get in touch with the person to have a friendly chat and find out more about them. If the young person is taking on caring responsibilities for a member of their family then a Young Carers Assessment is carried out.

Although our office is based in Arbroath, the Young Carers Support Worker travels throughout Angus, meeting and supporting Young Carers.

The Young Carers Assessment is a pack to find out about your life as a carer. It helps to find out about your life at home and the things you do to help the person you care for, your family, school and YOUR FEELINGS.

The reason for this assessment is to find out what YOUR NEEDS as a carer are and how you can be supported in your role.

ANYONE can make a referral to the Young carers project. The Young Carers Support Worker will then get in touch to arrange a visit with you where you feel comfortable you can bring along a friend or relative if you want!
