Based throughout all 51 Angus Primary Schools (P1-P7) – The Promise Education Development Workers aim to provide information and support to young people and teachers in relation to early identification of being a young carer.  It was recognised that there are many young carers of primary school age who are not aware that the additional tasks they are taking on within their home, can in fact mean they are in an unpaid caring role.

The Promise Project supports young carers through peer group sessions, one to one support and liaising with schools directly to enable all young carers the opportunity to thrive in education.

The Promise Project main ethos is to ensure that all identified young carers are provided a safe, creative space within primary schools for children to openly talk about their emotions and/or any difficulties they may be facing within their low-mid caring roles.
