What we do

What we do

Angus Carers Centre exists because of and for all unpaid young and adult carers of all walks of life across Angus.

We are a relationship and rights-based charity working with local private, public and third sector organisations. We have grown significantly over the last 25 years, and we are now supporting over 2,000
registered adult and young carers, although we know nearly 16,000 Angus residents (14% of the population of Angus) are missing out on our services, due to prevalent stigma, misunderstanding of the caring roles, and lack of support.

Our talented and passionate team of 22 staff and over 30 volunteers supports unpaid carers by building authentic relationships, providing independent advice, emotional, practical and mental health support, peer connection opportunities, including befriending and volunteering, ultimately raising the profile of the value of unpaid carers. Together with our volunteers, we strive to provide a first-class service to carers and their families, to make a lasting difference to their lives.
